RTM show with Leslie

For this month's Cherche Encore show we are delighted to be joined live from the RTM studio by London-based artist and composer Leslie, who shares his sound practice. Working with vocals has been a recent focus for live sets, as the voice carries subtext: (a need for) candor, fragility, and (a need for) artifice and performativity. This process is described as seeking out fragments of performed debate between no one in particular – musical practice as joyful symphonic incapacity to determine their origination. Leslie asks how to make these fragments vibrate so they can again form patterns; and what are these patterns? Chemical imbalance camouflaged as symmetry? Ornamental trauma networks ? An invitation to dance? Sort of a law? Leslie will share a window into his current practice through a live set followed by a selection of liked tracks.
